A HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI MESSAGE

Kausern Hieu, Country Manager of Nuffnang Malaysia

As a non-Muslim growing up in Malaysia, I’ve long admired the unique Hari Raya Aidilfitri tradition of children asking for forgiveness from their parents for any wrongdoing committed in the past year. There is something healing and even magical about this act.

For me, as I was growing up, the first day of Chinese New Year was all about waiting in line to receive an ang pow (money packet) from my parents. I didn’t have to say sorry to them for my disobedience and bad behavior in the past year to ‘unlock’ this act. It was as if I was entitled to my share of money. As a result, as I was growing up, saying “I’m sorry” was unnatural. However, throughout the years, the practice of seeking forgiveness has shaped me to become a more compassionate person.

Why do we ask for forgiveness? We do so because we are sorry and remorseful that we didn’t care enough. If you flip it around, we too will feel hurt if we were treated the same way.

Hence, in the spirit of forgiveness, as the Country Manager of Nuffnang Malaysia, I would like to ask for your forgiveness if we have intentionally or unintentionally wronged you in the past year.

The past 6 months have been overwhelming. There has been a surge of requests from our stakeholders. My team has been working tirelessly on weekends and even public holidays to deliver our best work. But at times, the stress does get to us and as a result, we missed deadlines, made mistakes, and just plainly mismanaged your expectations.

Necessary actions have been taken by my management team to improve your experience with us. Please continue to send your feedback for our improvement. We love to earn your business. We also wouldn’t mind receiving encouragement from you too if we have done well. I’m grateful that some of you have shown your concern for my people. Thank you. Your kind words go a long way for us.

In closing, here’s wishing my Muslim friends Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfiti, and may God turn your efforts and prayers into reality. We have included two original articles for your reading: Steps on Planning A Successful Influencer Marketing Campaign and a special review on the Personal Care Industry. Hope you find the insights valuable.

Take care and stay safe!
